Spreading the Good News!

Bunnies. Easter eggs. Baby chicks. Those are great and all, but in our home we strive to put our seasonal focus on the real meaning of Easter. Jesus Christ. Now don’t get me wrong. I love a good Cadbury Creme Egg as much as the next fella, but it’s so much more than that. This is the day our Lord and Savior arose from the dead. Arose to conquer all of our sins. OUR sins. How amazing is that?!? We’re so unworthy of this incredible gift of salvation and it’s so awe inspiring and humbling to even be a part of such an awesome event.

So in keeping with that spirit, I try to find creative ways to spread the good news and keep our focus on Jesus. Here’s what I came up with:

8001

HE IS RISEN Hershey Bar Wrappers. These will be in our children’s Easter baskets this year. They make great treats for neighbors or even strangers! What a fun way to spread the good news! They are up on the shelves of Studio 120 Underground if you’re interested.

And a customer requested these in the miniature Hershey’s size, so up in the Studio they went:

800

Hope you are enjoying the countdown to Easter with your family!

40 Days of Lent

Ash Wednesday and Lent typically mark a spiritual quest for Christians and is a time of prayer, service, sacrifice and self-examination. Typically known as the season of sacrifice, Lent can also be honored by ADDING something meaningful to our daily lives. Did you know that? What a perfect time to devote a part of each day to reading God’s word and meditating on His love and sacrifice!

ENTER 40 Days of Lent Scripture Tickets!

800

These tickets feature 40 significant verses from the Bible and will take you from Ash Wednesday all the way through Easter! (Psst! The numbers on the tickets are actually dates that correspond with the 40 days of Lent!)

800-PREVIEW-LANDSCAPE-2

I’ve also included a set of blank tickets so you can write your own devotions on each scripture, jot down discussion starters, or use as simple prayer cards!

800-PREVIEW-LANDSCAPE3

IDEAS ON HOW TO USE THE TICKETS:

1. Take the journey through the scriptures as a family. At dinner each night, have one person read the scripture out loud and have the family discuss the meaning and how it applies to your lives today.

2. Print an extra set for your spouse and tuck each day’s ticket in their pocket, lunchbox, briefcase, etc. for them to find. Write a short encouraging note on the back!

3. Make it a personal journey. Meditate on each day’s scripture and how God is speaking to you through His word. Keep a journal on your reflections and prayers.

4. Use a ribbon to attach the ticket to a candy bar or treat for an edible Easter Advent!

5. Punch a hole at the top of each ticket and string on a ribbon to create a Lent/Countdown to Easter garland for your home.

6. When no one’s looking, slip a ticket (with an encouraging note on the back) onto the desk of a co-worker or leave on an empty table at a restaurant for someone to discover.

7. Use the images for scrapbooking, card making, and other projects! (PNG formats are included.)

8. Use as gift tags, treat toppers, cards, gift embellishment, etc.

9. After Easter has passed, use the tickets to help memorize these important verses. Post one a week in a well-traveled area of the home and encourage your family to learn it by heart. Give small rewards to children who memorize the week’s verse.

800-PREVIEW-LANDSCAPE

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to honor the season of Lent with your family, you can find these Scripture Tickets on the shelves of Studio 120 Underground.

However you choose to honor the countdown to Easter in your home, I hope you are wonderfully blessed!

Sports, Sports, & More Sports

Sports. We love them. Our children love them. And so… we are busy. But with the close of basketball season (and the end of gymnastics meets in not-so-distant sight), our schedule is finally winding down.

While that has it’s benefits, it’s always hard for the kids to close another sports chapter and say goodbye to the coaches that lead them and the teammates that encourage them. I have always struggled to find cute and inexpensive gifts to give these important people so I decided to design some of my own.

I always keep Hershey’s miniature candy bars on hand so I always have a last-minute gift that can be assembled in a matter of minutes. And really. Who doesn’t love chocolate?

Prayer of Protection for the Nursery

Babies. So sweet. So innocent. So oblivious. Really. They are so untouched by the world we live in. All they know is love and safety. And how I wish we could keep them like that forever.

But those babies? They have a tendency to grow, to learn, and inevitably toddle away from our protecting hands. My desire to cover our children in prayer is what inspired me to create my latest project:

PREVIEW-1

It’s a prayer of protection to hang in the nursery, above a crib or in a small child’s bedroom. The angel wings are such a visual reminder of God’s protection, aren’t they? Tucked away beneath the wings is my son’s name (which is also featured inside the prayer). It reads, “O Angels of God, from heaven so bright, watching beside RYDER to lead him aright. Fold your wings round him and guard him with love. Softly sing songs to him of heaven above.”

You can view it in more in detail at Studio 120 Underground and even order one for your own child’s nursery. It also makes a great baby shower gift!

There is also a girl version which can be found here:

PREVIEW-1

The triptych can be hung side by side in a series or you can add an 8×10 photo of your child and hang the artwork in a grid.

PREVIEW-2

If you still have a baby at home, I pray that it’s a wonderfully blessed time in your household and in your lives. It’s such a short season.

14 DAYS OF LOVE! Celebrating the countdown to Valentine’s Day!

I’m so excited about the new series 14 DAYS OF LOVE! Meant to foster strong relationships between you and those you love, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the countdown to Valentine’s Day in your home!

Image

The first set in the series is based on the most famous LOVE scripture of all time! I Corinthians 13:4-8 tells us, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

Broken down into fourteen individual messages, this well-known scripture becomes the perfect reminder of the love God so beautifully created and will take you from February 1 all the way through Valentine’s Day! (Psst! The numbers on the tickets are actually dates!) I’ve also included a set of blank tickets so you can write your own sentiments! Simply print, trim and spread the love.

Ideas?
1. FOR YOUR SPOUSE : Hand write a love note on the back of the ticket that connects with the scripture on the front! Example: For Day 1 “Love is patient”, you could tell your spouse how much you appreciate how gentle and patient he is with the children, etc.
2. FOR YOUR CHILDREN : Print a set for each child, include a short encouraging note on the back, then HIDE one each day for each child to find.
3. Use a ribbon to attach the ticket to a candy bar or treat for an edible Valentine’s Day Advent!
4. Punch a hole at the top of each ticket and string on a ribbon to create a Valentine’s Day garland for your home.
5. When no one’s looking, slip a ticket (with an encouraging note on the back) onto the desk of a co-worker or leave on an empty table at a restaurant for someone to discover.
6. Use the images for scrapbooking, card making, and other projects! (PNG formats are included.)
7. Use as gift tags, cupcake toppers, valentines, gift embellishment, etc.

Image

The second set in the series is a bit more flirty and intended for spouses only! :) Keeping the spark alive in your marriage is so important as this is most revered and intimate relationship God designed! Beginning February 1st, surprise your husband daily with a new flirty message. A total of 14 tickets (and a couple extras) will take you all the way through Valentine’s Day!

I’ve included TWO different color combinations for you to choose from (or you can even mix and match)! Mint/Melon and Red/Pink/Aqua in both .PDF and .PNG formats. I’ve also included a set of blank tickets so you can write your own sentiments! That’s a total of TWELVE downloads! Not just for Valentine’s Day, these tickets are great for adding spice to your marriage year-round!

Ideas?
1. Hand write a love note on the back of the ticket that connects with the message on the front.
2. Hide the tickets in his car, briefcase, lunchbox, medicine cabinet, etc. After the second day, I guarantee he’ll go searching!
3. Use a ribbon to attach the ticket to a candy bar or treat for an edible Valentine’s Day Advent!
4. Punch a hole at the top of each ticket and string on a ribbon to create a sexy Valentine’s Day garland for your bedroom.
5. Use the images for scrapbooking, card making, and other projects! (PNG formats are included.)

However, you choose to countdown the days until Valentine’s, I hope you make beautiful memories with the ones you love!
